Strain the lemon juice and stir it together with the sugar, rosewater and water in a large pitcher. Add more sugar or honey to taste, if needed, or dilute with extra water or a splash of sparkling water if desired.
Serve chilled, with ice and extra lemon slices.
Notes
Look for rosewater without extra ingredients. Choose one that lists only rosewater, or distilled water plus rosewater concentrate on the ingredients label.If you're unsure if you like rosewater, start with 1 to 2 tablespoons the first time you make this lemonade, then increase the amount of rosewater to your taste. However, even though you wouldn't put ¼ cup of rosewater in other dishes, it is not too much in this lemonade, as it's balanced by the acidity of the lemon juice.A splash of vodka turns Rosewater Lemonade into a lovely summer cocktail.
